Treatment Programs

Length of treatment depends on the needs of the individual, as do the options of residency or day program. Beyond the minimum two weeks required for the day program, and one month for short-term residency, there are no fixed time limits.

Some men reside at 1835 House for a few months, and some for nearly a year. Those who eventually move into extended housing are in the program much longer. As long as a client is making progress and following the rules, he is allowed all the time he needs.

Extended Housing

 Goal

Extended housing is for men who have completed long-term residency at 1835 House, but are not yet ready to live on their own.

By living with fellow alumni, attending at least one meeting a week at 1835 House, and staying in touch on a regular basis with 1835 counsellors, men in extended housing live with their own support group, thereby reducing the risk of relapse over the long term.
